Now that I have a website and a couple of affiliate pages I need traffic. How? I tried Google Adwords, free classified ads, both with minimal results. Then I discovered Traffic Exchanges. You get traffic for your site by looking at someone else’s site. Easy enough.
So I started surfing for credits. And got distracted by all the other sites I was seeing. I kept seeing a page claiming you can make $500.00 a month surfing only five hours a week. OK, might as well since I’m surfing that much anyway. Well if five hours a week is good, why not three or four hours a day?
Surfing took on a life of it’s own for a while. I joined twenty Traffic Exchanges and surfed faithfully. Most of what I saw was other people showing the same sites as I was. Sixty days later and more hours than I care to think about I was still looking for my first sign up. Time to change tactics.
I did get two good things out of the Traffic Exchanges though. On one of the Exchanges I joined a surfing team, it made the time go faster and gave me some good contacts.
By and far the best thing, a woman named Aymee Buckhannon joined my MLM. She had been thinking about it and there was my page. Just the right place at the right time.
We started a dialog, it turned out Aymee had been on line marketing for several years. And here I was a rank beginner trying to help her. Funny how things turn out sometimes.
Then disaster struck, my computer got a nasty virus. It took me twenty days to figure out and fix the problem. I finally got back on line and to my amazement Aymee had enrolled seven new members and three customers. I had to find out what see was doing and how she was doing it.
That’s when I learned about the power of Attraction Marketing. I had heard the term but didn’t really understand what it was. Having had a first hand demonstration I knew this was the way to go.
I got a copy of Magnetic Sponsoring By Mike Dillard. I read it through twice. I started to apply what it taught. It shortened my learning curve considerably, but I could not quite put it together in practice.
I went back to Aymee’s blog, and enrolled in the Renegade University. More Attraction Marketing training based on Ann Sieg’s book The Renegade Network Marketer, and founded by Mike Klingler. The training was a bit different and easier to understand.
I went through the free training at Renegade University pretty quickly. I wanted more. They offer a paid training called Renegade Professional, it has click by click videos showing exactly how to implement your Attraction Marketing. It not only tells you how, it tells you why! Just what this beginner needed.
I had to wait three long weeks for Renegade Professional to open back up. The wait was worth it. There are literally hundreds of hours of training in the back office. There is even a ninety day action plan.
A word of advice to any one joining Renegade Professional, follow the action plan. It is very easy to get side tracked with all that great training. I know, I skipped around a little and lost a month. Well not really lost, I just got it done out of order.
So now I have three Squidoo Lenses, a blog(obviously) I’m on Face Book and Twitter, I’m not sure why just yet. But I have faith in my teacher, Mike Klingler. I’ve seen the results of his previous students. Next up? Maybe Digg.
I got Mike Dillard’s MLM Traffic Formula 2.0. The classes have just started so I can’t really say too much yet. The first class was an introduction of what will be covered and with Mike Dillard’s reputation of over delivering it is sure to be incredible.
That’s pretty much where I am. Not too bad for seven months. My ground work is laid, I know where I’m going, and how to get there. It’s just a matter of time.
