In Nov 2008 I was out of work and the job market in Michigan was bad and getting rapidly worse. I had been seeing TV commercials talking about how much money could be made on line. You know the ones, a middle aged man with two great looking younger women “You can make Millions on the Internet, Only $39.95!” Or that computer animated critter siting at a desk.
There must be money to be made on line if they will pay the hundreds of thousands of dollars to advertise on TV. But how many other people had already bought those replicated websites? I started to look for something less saturated.
Boy, when you look on line you can find all kinds of things. I heard about Paid Survey Sites. $75.00 an hour? Sign me up! After never making it past the pre-qualifying questions on several dozen surveys I realized they didn’t want the opinion of an unemployed middle age man with general skills.
While filling out surveys I signed up for a few newsletters. I got a solo ad for “The Six Figure Program” by Ben Moskel and David Clabeaux. Great program,I got my first hosting account and they loaded four pages and gave some easy to follow directions on how to use basic HTML to add links and my own content. I found out what affiliate marketing is and how it works.
About the same time I found an add offering a free “Internet Business In A Box” I’ll take it! It came with a $1.00 trial month membership in the “Easy Profit Strategy Club”. How cool was that?
The Easy Profit Strategy Club taught me a lot. I learned more HTML, what FTP is and how to use it. I also learned to use an HTML editor. I was introduced to rewriting Private Label Articles for my own unique content. My Own Content!
Another piece of the puzzle, I took what I learned from both programs and created my first website MidavenFitness. Not the best website, but it’s all mine and my first effort.
While I was working on my website I got involved in a MLM company as I realized it would take some time for MidavenFitness to start producing.
All this time I thought I was just spinning my wheels. I didn’t realize how much I have already done, but I know how much more I need to do. If any one’s listening… more later.
