“Attraction Marketing- Attracting People to You so You Can Market to Them”
“Attraction Marketing- Standing Out From The Crowd so People Will Notice and Buy From You”
The short answer, No, Not dead. Changing. Fast.
Attraction Marketing can be defined in a lot of different ways, the
two above just came off the top of my head. I didn’t put much thought into them. But they’re accurate.
However you define it what Attracting Marketing is, what it’s supposed to do is “Level the Playing Field” so that “The Little Guy” can compete with large Companies with their huge advertising Budgets.
How many Training Systems do you know of that teach you to use Attraction Marketing?
I can think of three really big ones. All teaching THOUSANDS of people how to stand out from the crowd!
Wait, if everyone is learning how to stand out, how can I get an edge?
By standing out differently from anyone else.
How? By being real. By letting people see your strange little quirks, your attitudes, and opinions. They may love you, they might hate you, but they won’t ignore you.
With Attraction Marketing you lead with value, you give away something good to get people to wonder, “If he’s giving something this good away, wow, the stuff he sells must be killer.”
BUT IT’S NOT! The free offer often falls short, with very little or no real value.
I have signed up to a lot of lists for various reasons, their offer sounds good, I’m interested in what they have to say, and to study their auto-responder series. Yep, to spy on them.
You see an offer, “10 Day ECourse on How To Set Up Your On-Line Income Engine” Wow, only 10 days? Would you sign up? I Did.
Guess what I got?
Day 1. A long email saying that if you want your car to go faster, don’t polish the rims, work on the engine. Then a link to a $20.00 ebook.
Day 2. An email tilted #1 Mistake people make when selling online. What is it? Trying to sell something right away. I guess he forgot to read it himself.
Day 3 and 4 got lost somewhere, they didn’t even make it to spam. It didn’t matter, he had already lost all creditability with the 2nd email.
I stayed on the list for an example of what not to do. I was right, every email read like a canned ad for the Products he was promoting. They probably were.
Marketing tips from someone who didn’t read his own message.
And not one single thing on how to build an On-line Income Engine.
My point?
Look at your offer. Do you follow through? Are you really giving away something you could sell for real money?
In the end, Attraction Marketing is advertising yourself as your main product or business. Are you selling yourself short?
PS Big Surprise on Monday.

Hi Michael!
This is a great post! I see this happen all of the time. I actually subscribe to several lists myself and have seen this same thing. I don’t expect folks to be perfect as it takes a while to get your blog up and running smoothly but, I do see a lot of hype on some offers only to find out that they are not giving anything away at all.
Again, I enjoyed this post!
Have a blessed day!

Hi Melisa,
It’s almost funny, you can install a blog in what, about five minutes? Getting it set up the way you want can take days. Longer if it’s your first blog.
Picking a theme, configuring your Plug Ins (I have 40 active ones here), designing your sidebars, and oh yeah, creating content.
My present offer will become obsolete on Monday, I’ve been making some rather sweeping changes and my new report should be a lot more enticing, we’ll see.
No hype, just something to go hand in hand with my new…
Sorry, it comes out Monday.

[...] Most online marketers today are using Attraction Marketing to build their businesses. Well in this post, Michael Cole does a nice job discussing what Attraction Marketing is all about in his post titled, “Is Attraction Marketing Really Dead?” [...]
Hi Mike,
I too spy on peoples list and more often than not it’s canned. “let me show you how I get 100 leads a day…” Hmmm, if they have 100 leads a day, how are they all over the blogosphere all day long??
Love the post! All of it rings so true. How can you stand out from the crowd if everyone is using 1 of three systems? BE YOURSELF! Love me or leave me, I am who I am!
Again, great post and I’ll have to swing by tomorrow to see what you have up your sleeve!
Have an awesome week,

Hey Twila,
Not too far back I saw two guys talking on my Facebook Feed about two different ways to use Social Media. How to get leads from Twitter and Facebook all day long.
Two different Lead Capture Pages with different offers. And the same pre-written emails from both.
I’ll give one credit for trying though, he actually wrote a few emails himself. Using pre-written emails as a starting point and then learning to write his own. Putting himself in his messages. Good thinking.
Tomorrow, something so simple you’ll wonder why no one’s done it before. Or if they have the word isn’t getting around.

Hi Michael,
I really enjoyed this post because I see this every single
day. Someone trying to push their useless information
on me.
Yes, I do subscribe to a variety of lists to get ideas and learn what others are doing in NM.
Then there are lists that are filled with value in and out. For example, a few weeks ago, I joined Jim Yaghi list, most people know who he is because of his work with Mike Dillard.
Most people who expect a sales pitch immediately because he knows what he is doing and has helped many succeed. But in return, got the complete opposite. TONS and TONS of value, no immediate sales pitch and one of the BEST e-books I have ever read (136-pages of value) for free.
My point…I am currently working on my own product and was trying to figure out the value of charging or giving it away.
I came to the conclusion to sell the product because of the value I can give to the newbies of the Industry. The cost is low but the value is high and can really help someone get started the right way.
I am glad I came across this great post.
Thanks!

Hi Tommy,
A low cost, high value product is a great way to introduce to new people.
Once they see how you over-deliver you know they will keep coming back for more.
With your leadership your people should do the same, lead with value. Thanks for stopping by.
Do Not Be Denied,
Mike
