Delayed Gratification- The Smart Choice For Network Marketers

Delayed Gratification-Working hard now for amazing results later.

What do you want most in this world? Is it more money to do the things you enjoy? How about more time to spend with the ones you love?

Or maybe it is the freedom to do what you want, when you want to do it?

When do you want it?

Right now!! That’s basic human nature.

Now consider this, you’re hungry so you head to your favorite fast food joint. You get a great tasting meal, right now! Yea!! No more hunger.

What else did you get? More salt than you should eat in an entire day. Enough calories for two meals.

Now what if you spent 30 or 40 minutes preparing a meal at home? You get the satisfaction of a job well done. Less salt to help control your blood pressure. You don’t feel the need for a nap because you ate too much greasy food.

All because you took a little extra time.

Think about your favorite entertainer. From the outside it looks like it happened overnight.

How many years did they spend taking classes, getting lousy jobs, and waiting on tables (Just like Mike Dillard) before they got their big break?

Ever heard of Jim Carrey? His first big money role was “The Mask”.

Before that he had bit parts in “In Living Color” and wasn’t even listed in the credits. Prior to that he was in a show called “The Duck Factory“.

He paid his dues and got where he wanted to be.

What About You?

Are you willing to pay your dues? Can you devote the months or years necessary to learning your new craft? Are you capable of teaching your new recruits the lessons you so painstakingly learned, to cut short their learning curve?

That’s what Network Marketing is, people teaching people to help other people. The more people you can help, the more money you will make. It just takes time and dedication.

The time will pass regardless of what you do.  Will you whine and complain that it’s too hard or complicated? Or roll up your sleeves and do what few people have the courage and determination to accomplish?

Your first step is to find a mentor, someone that can teach you the skills to pass on to your down-line.

  • You are correct, we live in an instant gratification world. Too many times people new to the industry are sucked in by all of the hype of lure of making thousands a week. That just doesn't happen in the beginning. If it were the case, we would all be hanging out at our favorite spots instead of working our butt's off!

    Great points you make!

  • The really sad part is that if you get something fast you don't value it as much.

When you have to work and struggle for something the rewards are so much sweeter.

  • That's a good point you make Mike. The true test is when you aren't seeing the results you would like to be seeing but still work at it like you are getting them.

  • Hey Michael,

You hit the nail on the head.

And delayed gratification is a habit that will help in any industry you choose to be in, if you wish to be successful.

It takes discipline and consistent action, but you do get true satisfaction from taking the time to do things diligently, learn the ropes, and pass them on to your team. That is definitely the beginning of true wealth building.

It also sets in place a solid foundation for success.

    Hi Michael,

It’s a shame so many marketers give the false impression that all you have to do is sign up click a few links and this time tomorrow the big bucks start rolling in.

They don’t realize that those of us that are making it on-line study hard, worked harder, and then promoted like mad to get there.

It’s only when you start to teach what you know that it begins to take shape and momentum builds. Until then it’s only theory.

    Thanks For Stopping By,
    Mike
