The Global Recession is receding at near glacial speed, small improvements in the US Unemployment Rate, 8.8% for March, 2011, and some 200,000 new jobs created in March sound really good, if you say it fast and don’t think about it too much.
With nearly 20,000,000 unemployed and under-employed people in the United States, 200,000 new jobs is not even a drop in the bucket(1%). Added to that, most of the new jobs are in new technologies, extensive re-training is required. If you’re much older than 45 you’re out of luck breaking into the new fields, in many cases your life experiences make you too costly.
The Unemployment Rate only covers persons on Unemployment Compensation, it doesn’t factor in people forced to take part-time jobs because full-time jobs aren’t available. No Benefits required for part-timers. It also doesn’t include the 99ers, people who have exhausted their Unemployment Compensation Benefits and still can’t find a job locally, they’ve been out-sourced over-seas.
But Who Really Wants A New J.O.B. Anyway?
The Myth of a Secure Job died with the last century, know any Auto-Workers? Busted their backs for decades, only to be “down-sized” or forced into early retirement. Only government intervention stopped GM and Chrysler from going the way of the Studebaker.
The low numbers of new jobs and the lethargic pace of older factory jobs returning, if they are coming back at all, are forcing displaced workers into thinking “outside the box” and sooner or later they end up on-line looking into “That Internet Money Making Thing” they’ve been hearing about.
Instant Bombardment. Everyone is jumping up and down, “I Can Help You! I Can Help You! Pick Me! Pick Me!” Worked great a couple of years ago, still does but you need to be a bit more subtle.
Need to learn a new Internet skill? Google it and take your pick, thousands of trainers to choose from, deja vu all over again.
New people coming on-line used to face a bewildering prospect of figuring out how to get started, now they’re faced with an even bigger challenge, what coach, teacher, trainer, mentor, adviser, leader, etc. is the right one for them to follow?
What happens when the competition for new Prospects or leads is this fierce? Some unscrupulous people ‘tweak’ their message a little, make it a bit more appealing, lie is a better way of putting it.
Promise everything AND the kitchen sink, anything and everything they can think of to pull leads onto their list. By “Hook Or By Crook” get that lead!!
A relationship is supposed to be based on trust, one that begins with a lie is doomed to failure, and the longer the relationship, the harder and more disastrous the fall.
Other people are developing software designed to “Suck Prospects To Your List On Auto-Pilot” whether they want to be there or not.
How can anyone hope to build a relationship based on trust when their “Prospects” are unknowingly added to their list?
Attraction Marketing is about enticing Prospects to come to you, not tricking them into opting in to your list.
The choice is yours, you can treat your Prospects with respect and have some of them join your business, or you can lie, cheat, and trick your Prospects out of their hard-earned cash, then reap what you sowed when someone sneakier than you gets all of your money.
The Law of Attraction says you will get what you think about the most, do you think about Tricks or Treats?
