The 40 Year Plan, The Ultimate Pyramid Scheme

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

We have been duped! All of our lives we have been taught the wrong way to create wealth and prosperity. Even worse, we have been brainwashed into believing that it is the only way to be financially secure in our retirement.

From grade school on we have told that if we want to be a contributing member of society we have to:

  1. Get a good education.
  2. Get a good J.O.B. (Just Over Broke)

Half truths and innuendos, yes you need a good education, but we are taught the wrong things.

Start with education. You’ve done all you were told to do, you’ve studied hard and earned several advanced degrees, you are a heart surgeon. Money in the Bank!!

WRONG, how many heart operations can you perform each day? 2, 3, or maybe 4? Bear in mind that your patients have to survive the procedure.

At the end of the day you are trading your time for dollars. Yes, you are highly skilled and earn a high income.

How much quality time do you have to spend with your spouse and children? Time that you are not dead on your feet from being covered in blood and operating all day?

You have the income, you have the prestige, and the start of a drinking problem to escape the high stress levels of your J.O.B.

Is it any wonder that so many doctors write a book, quit their practice, and go on the Talk Show circuit?

The 40 Year Plan

Here is how the Plan is supposed to work.

At 25 years of age you are educated and working your “good job”. You save and or invest 10% every paycheck so that at 65 years you can retire to the life to which you have become accustomed.

Invest your money? It’s safe, right? Yea, right. Remember 2008? You studied 1929, didn’t you? It can’t happen again, can it? Oops, it just did!

Suppose that you are 25 right now and have $100,000 to invest for your future using the “miracle” of compound interest.

  • 25 years   old         $100,000
  • 33 years   old         $200,000
  • 41 years    old        $400,000
  • 49 years    old        $800,000
  • 57 years    old      $1,600,000
  • 65 years    old      $3,200,000

Remember, for the next forty years you cannot touch that money. It must be left alone to grow for your future.

Sounds great right? Retire a millionaire. The bad news is that according to current economic trends and predictions your three point two million dollars will onlybe worth $760,000 in forty years. Congratulations, you have worked your butt off your whole life to retire in poverty.

Take 100 people at age twenty-five, in forty years this is what they have:

  1. 31       are dead.
  2. 68      are dead broke.
  3. 1         is financially secure.

After my rant you are probably wondering how this is a pyramid scheme. One person out of one hundred is at the apex, while the rest are under him, 31 are six feet under.

One person out of one hundred people that labored their entire lives gets to retire with dignity. The sixty-eight other survivors get to live at poverty, work part-time jobs, and hope that their children are willing and able to help them out financially.

Modern day pharaohs are the CEO’s of major corporations, the ones bringing in multi-million dollar paychecks while their underlings search for ways to terminate employees that have reached $10.00 to $12.00 an hour.

Not wanting their tombs robbed Egyptian Pharaohs would bury their architects alive to prevent even the smallest chance of someone stealing their treasures. What was to be the architects greatest accomplishment was also their death sentence. Be put to death now if they refused, or be buried alive if they accepted.

Knowing this, the architect would install a secret escape hatch know only to him, and not on any plans.

The 4 Year Plan, Your Escape Hatch

Whatever age you are right now you can start today and build your Four Year Plan. You can have in four years what you were deceived into believing you would have in forty years.

How, you ask? Re-educate yourself, learn to build a network where the total is far greater than the sum of it’s parts.

Instead of depending on 100% of your efforts alone, with network marketing you can reap the rewards of 1% of hundreds or possibly thousands of people all working together for their common goal, Financial Independence.

Yes, you will have to work the Plan in order for the Plan to work. The first few months may be very hard work, but the rewards are definitely worth it.

Would you rather work hard for 4 years and have the lifestyle of your dreams or work hard for forty years and feel like you’ve been beaten with a stick?

There are many good Network Marketing plans out there so don’t be put off by the bad reputations of a few unscrupulous MLM companies.

Do your due diligence, find the Network Marketing Opportunity that fits in with your desired lifestyle.

  1. Be sure the product or service you are offering is of high quality.
  2. Make sure the Compensation Plan is beneficial to beginners and seasoned pros alike.
  3. Check that your potential up-line is able and willing to help you get started.
  4. Be wary of anyone that says they will do all of the work for you, do you work all week to give your check to someone else?

Network Marketing can be a fun and profitable experience. You can build friendships as you build your new lifestyle.

Start today and in four years time you can look back and see not the hardships of stepping out on a new frontier, but the benefits of new friends who also have the time and money to enjoy life to it’s fullest.

Your Key To Success, Belief In Yourself

Let’s face it, no matter how awesome your Network Marketing Compensation Plan is or how compelling your Affiliate offer may be, it has little to do with your success.

Regardless of the vehicle you have chosen to build your goal of financial independence you can find people that have had massive success and others that were dismal failures, both with the same exact opportunity.

So what was the difference? Did the successes work harder? Probably not. Were they smarter? Not much, if at all. Did successful ones spend more time working than the failures? Doubtful, they may have even spent less time working. When you believe in yourself you are more focused, you get more done in less time.

The difference is this, the successful ones knew down to the very core of their being that they could do it, all they had to do was learn some new skills and use them.

 Faith Of The Heart

You may love Star Trek, you may hate it or be completely indifferent to it but the opening lines to “Enterprise” can be very inspiring.

“It’s been a long road, getting from there to here. It’s been a long time, but my time is finally near. I will see my dream come alive at last. I will touch the sky…”

It’s about Man’s quest for the stars, centuries of work and dreams at long last coming to fruition.

Click on the video, lean back, close your eyes, and dare to dream your improbable dream. See yourself there. Believe you can get there. Give your dream a time limit, make it a goal.

A parting thought, It is better to reach for the stars and fall short than to reach for your knees and succeed. Believe in yourself and you will succeed, don’t believe in yourself and well, it sucks to be you.

The Art Of Blog Commenting

Every well-known, seasoned blogger at some point was a total newbie, didn’t know what a keyword was or how to post a link.

When you want to do something new you need to learn new skills. You do something you probably hated to do in school, study.

You grow and reinvent yourself until you have built your very first blog. You’ve done your research and decided whether to get a free blog or to self host your own blog. You’ve conquered your fear of writing.

Now that you have created your blog, found your voice, and have something to share, how do you become known?

Blog Commenting

One very good way to get exposure for your new blog is to comment on other, more established blogs in your niche. Not just any comment will work. Writing “good post” or “I agree” isn’t a comment, it’s spam.

For blog commenting to be effective you need to actually read the post. After reading the post, if you have something of value to add, write a comment.

How does this get exposure for your blog? Simple, when you leave a comment you are asked for three things.

  1. Your name.
  2. Your e-mail.
  3. Your website.

If your comment has good valuealong the lines of the post some of that blog’s readers will click on the link to your blog. Instant Traffic!

That is why you need to write good quality comments, to gain the interest of that blogs readers or even the owner.

Gravatars

To be even more effective you need to have your picture associated with your comment.

To do this go to Gravatar.com and get a free account. Once you have your account you can link your picture to your email address so that any time you make a comment using that email your picture will automatically show up.

Find a few blogs in your niche and start giving valuable comments and your traffic will increase. Better still, reading the posts and comments will engage your creative process to write more posts for your blog.

Building Your On-Line Presence

You’ve decided on the company you want to build your business with. They have a great product and a solid Compensation Plan. They have a good training and support system. Best of all, you get a state of the art website to market with. It has all the bells and whistles you could need to get prospects to buy your product or join your business, once they land on your site that is.

You’ve done everything you need to do to set up your company replicated website, you’re ready to make some sales. OK, so where are your customers? They should be here by now, right?

Have you told them where you are and how to find you?

Location, Location, Location

When you start a new business in the off-line world your told you need three things to start a profitable business, location, location, location. You have your location, you’ve taken out ads for your business, you may even have a little map to help new customers find your place.

In the “Real World” there only so many ways to get from point A to point B. On-line there are no clear-cut paths to anywhere. You can go to any website from any website. No street markers, no one way signs, just go where you want to go.

To get prospects to want to go to your site they have to know about it first.

Your Own Web Address

What you need is a lead-in site, your own personally branded website to educate your potential customers and business partners about your product and opportunity. You also need to demonstrate why they join with you rather than one of the thousands of other company distributors.

You have probably just made an investment to get started and are on a budget. You need to get good value for your promotional efforts.

Free  Website Hosting

You can get a free website from several different places, but there are some disadvantages you need to consider:

  1. You have to follow their rules and regulations. You can’t anything you want.
  2. For the “free” hosting you will have ads on your site that you don’t control.
  3. Your site could be deleted without warning, months of work con disappear in an instant.
  4. You get a more generic URL, not as personally brand-able

That being said there are definite benefits to free sites:

  1. It’s free
  2. It’s a good way to practice.
  3. It can be set up faster.

Two places you can get a free website are Squidoo.com and WordPress.org.

Squidoo lets you set up a Lens about almost anything and you can customise it somewhat.

WordPress sets you up with a free WordPress blog and is more customisable.

Paid Website Hosting

Paid hosting is a better alternative and costs less than $10.00 a month.

Two things your hosting account MUST  have are cPanel and Fantastico De Luxe. CPanel is how you control your website and Fantastico De Luxe let’s you set up a blog on your site with just a few mouse clicks.

Having multiple domains and unlimited bandwidth are useful to have farther down the road, but don’t worry, your hosting can grow with you.

Setting Up Your Website

Step 1.  Choose your domain.

This is one of most crucial decisions you will make, be sure you pick something for the long haul.

If you can get http://YOURNAME.com. It’s a good way to let people know it’s YOU, not some faceless company. If you can’t get your name try to get it with hyphens or last name first.

Another good choice would be to use your product name in your URL, if your company allows it. Something that connects you and your product.

Most hosting accounts will include you one free domain registration with your purchase. To save time you can use GoDaddy to check on the availability of your domain name. If your choice is already taken they will suggest viable alternatives.

Step 2. Get Your Hosting Account

Google “hosting” and pick your provider. I currently use BlueHost as my provider. It has everything I need for $8.95 a month, paid yearly.

Another good choice is HostGator. Their Hatchling plan starts out at $4.95 a month. You only get a single domain but you can always upgrade later when you need to.

Whichever hosting company you decide on make sure they have cPanel and Fantastico De Luxe.

Step 3. Setting Up Your Blog

Log on to your cPanel account.

Scroll down to software services and click the blue smiley face Fantastic De Luxe.

Look for WordPress on the left side of the page, click it.

Fill in the required information and click the ”install WordPress” button. You now have your own blog.

Here is a free video Blogging For Beginners that covers the basics.

Step 4. Customise Your Blog

Go to your newly created blog and click the log in link on the left. Look for the Appearance tab, click to expand, click add new themes.

Find a theme you like and install it.

Step 5. Add Unique Content To Your Blog

Not so easy at first, the more you do the better you get.

I like using free resources, when they are of high quality. Here is one with 15 content creation ideas to get you started, no opt-in required

Next up we will go over ways to get traffic to your blog.

Put Your Social Marketing On Steroids

Social Media is evolving fast. Once just a way to stay in touch with friends and family it is now turning into marketing sensation. The challenge is how to syndicate your content quickly, while it is still fresh and new.

Let’s say you just spent two or three hours writing a blog post. You submit it to Digg, you tell your Facebook friends about it, put it in the Mixx, you Tweet about it to your followers etc.

This takes time, especially when you’re first starting out. A few hours to create your content then sometimes days to spread the word. Time you could put to better use creating more content.

What if you could spread it out faster? What if you could syndicate in minutes instead of hours or days?

Synnd

I just discovered a new tool called Synnd. It was developed by Social Media Science.

Synnd is both community and a tool to semi-automate your social media content. What you get is over 700 people helping to spread your content in return for help spreading theirs.

Now you’re thinking that you already don’t have enough time and now you’re going to do it for others? That’s where the automated part comes in. You tell it what you want done for you and it does it.

With any good tool it takes a bit of time to learn to use it, and to be sure you use it properly you have to be certified first. Once certified you tell your tool what you want syndicated and where you want it. Then other members do it for you, and you know it’s more effective to have other people bookmarking your content.

The best part? You can try it out for two weeks for just a buck. Your two weeks will start after you certify. You will want to certify on a weekday, as I certified on a Friday and had to wait until Monday.
