Welcome back, if you like what you see here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
The Ultimate Blogging Giveaway came to a close at 10:00 am EDT yesterday, 15 days of gift giving and list building.
I had never been a contributor in a Giveaway Event before so I wasn’t sure how it would go.
All in all I think it went pretty well, 138 new subscribers in 15 days. More people subscribed than that, about 20 got their gifts and unsubscribed, no big deal really.
The thing is, if you are getting freebies at a Giveaway/Listbuilding Event you know that you are joining lists, maybe a lot of them. If you just want to get your gifts and unsubscribe, do it.
Just don’t hit the “Do Not Contact” option, you’re still on their list, taking up space that you don’t want, space that someone else does want.
A really JERK move, you filled out the Opt In Form, got your gift then stayed on the list but said,”Leave me Alone”
Of course, YOU wouldn’t do that. Would You?
One way to keep your new subscribers is to not start slamming them with emails right off the bat.
Keep in mind that they are probably getting lots of freebies and that some of the contributors will be sending 2 or 3 emails a day. Maybe 40 or more emails a day, overload.
The No Labor-Labor Day Giveaway Event is starting on 08/31 and will go on through all of September.
A Giveaway with a twist, no duplicate gifts. So if you want to give away a viral ebook get in fast, first come, first served.
Even if it’s an ebook you wrote, with free giveaway rights, you could lose out, someone else could be building their list with your work.
Happy List Building,
Mike
