My Isabody Challenge Day Fifty-Two
Saturday August 27, 2016
I got up and took my shot of Ionix Supreme.
I stretched and took the dogs for their walk.
I’ve had three days off from running and have been taking it easy on my work-outs, now it’s time for a test of sorts. Duck Lake Pines, a park near my house, has a paved hike/bike path that’s relatively level. I took a shot of AMPED™ NOx and headed out there to run a timed 5k to see how my running has progressed.
Just over 30 minutes, twelve seconds over, not bad, one of the training programs my RunKeeper app has is for a sub 30 minute 5k, I’m confident that if I were running with other people I could shave at least half a minute off my time.
As I’m nearing the half-way point in my Isabody Challenge, 56 days is half-way, I realize I’ve been slacking off a bit. You just can’t go on and on with a reduced caloric intake and heightened exercise program indefinitely, your body needs time to rest and rebuild. Since I wasn’t taking enough time off my body forced the issue, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday I just didn’t have the energy for my morning exercises.
As it turns out I’ve been over-training, I need to hit the weights less. It was all good the first month and a half, I was finding my level so it didn’t matter that I did upper and lower body on the same day, three days a week. Now that I’m at my upper weight limit I need to alternate upper and lower body workouts.
I’ll still lift Monday, Wednesday and Friday, just shorter and more intense with more recovery time. That should break my current weight plateau, 176 lbs to 178 lbs.
I kind of digressed there a bit. After my run I had an Isalean shake, then blew off my diet for the rest of the day.
I may run tomorrow, maybe not. Either way. Monday August 29 is Game On for a renewed focus.
