Build Six Pack Abs In Four Weeks – Take Two – Day Seven
Sunday January 27, 2013
Did the core workout today and I increased the weight of the light dumbbells I use for three of my exercises from two-pounds to three-pounds, for a little more calorie burn and a bit more resistance.
Big changes starting tomorrow, this first week was basically a shake down week, a week to get the conditioning back, and a week to boost my metabolism. Now that my muscles are used to the core workout and my metabolism is higher it’s time to up the game.
Time to add resistance training to the mix. You don’t have to add resistance training if you don’t want to, I didn’t last year when I was going for the lean look. The results speak for themselves.
The challenge is this, my resistance training machine is 900 miles away in Michigan, and I’m in Alabama for the next few months. Well, not much of a challenge, not really. The machine just makes it more convenient to workout at one place and time. You need to learn to make do with what you have on hand. You’ll see what I mean in the next three weeks.
You’re going to get results from my system whether you watch what you eat or not, you’ll get better results, faster, if you do. I got some fairly good results this first week, four pounds total weight lost. It’s best not to read too much into minor weight fluctuations throughout the week, just stay your course and the pounds will come off weekly.
Part of my regained weight was from my bike ride, I built up and firmed up my leg muscles, the muscle I built out-weighed the fat I burned.
I mentioned in yesterday’s post that I was backing off eating four times a day, I had my fun and confused my metabolism. Now it’s time to eat lightly for the next three weeks. Once I rebuild my six-pack I can relax a bit, it’s easier to maintain your six-pack than it is to build it.
- 8:30 am I had two packets of Blueberry and Cream Instant Oatmeal. Going to cut down to one packet starting tomorrow.
- 1:30 pm I ate two bowls of a chicken alfredo bake, chunks of chicken breast, cooked elbow macaroni, and alfredo sauce, covered in mozzarella cheese.
- 5:30 pm I ate two pieces of fried chicken, a thigh and a drumstick, no coating, a cup and a half of fried potatoes and onions, and about a cup of peas and diced carrots.
My weight was 181 pounds, four down, eleven to go!
