Seven “Health” Foods That Make You Fat
Not all Health Foods are created equal, in fact some only say Healthy to through you off and mislead you. Remember the
Diet Business is a Multi-Billion Dollar Industry. They don’t want you to reach your goal or the bottom drops out of the market.
1) Sugar Free Cookies: Sugar and fat are two of the main components of a tasty treat, remove one and you have to add more of the other to keep the sweet taste. But it goes beyond that, when artificial sweeteners are used your ‘sweet tooth’ is not satisfied so you eat more than you should. You feel both hungry and stuffed at the same tine.
2) “Fat Free” Foods: Just because food is labeled “fat free” does not mean it is healthy. Same as for sugar-free foods, except in the opposite order. Take the fat content out of a food and more sugar must be added to make up the difference. Consider hard candies like jaw breakers or lollipops, they have no fat content but are mostly pure sugar.
3) “Organic” Food: The “organic” label means that the food you’re buying was grown naturally, without pesticides or artificial fertilizers, it has little or nothing to do with how the raw food is processed. A corn chip made from organic corn is still full of empty fat calories.
4) Frozen Vegetables with Extras: Vegetables are good for you in their natural state, whether boiled or steamed. Start adding Alfredo Sauce or melted cheese and you’re adding calories, maybe a lot of them.
5) Ground Turkey: Turkey is not necessarily a lean meat. Turkey breast is lean but most ground turkey is thigh meat which is higher in fat content. Be sure you check the label.
6) Chain Restaurant Salads: Salads aren’t healthy by default. It starts to break down when you add dressing. A two Tablespoon serving of Ranch Dressing is 145 calories and you typically get about a quarter cup or more per salad. It’s best to order a vinaigrette dressing on the side and dip your salad.
7) Veggie Chips: Deep fry a vegetable and you kill off most of the nutrients in addition to adding a whole lot of fat calories.
So there you have it, seven supposedly healthy foods that really aren’t.
