Do you remember your first bike, and the day your parents removed your training wheels? I remember mine.
It was two weeks after my sixth birthday. I went out to the garage to find my bike leaning on it’s kickstand. Kickstand, where are my training wheels?
I was terrified and angry, ” Dad, someone broke my bike!” I screamed as I ran back into the house.
He came out and looked at it, “It’s OK, the training wheels broke, the bike’s fine.” “But I want to ride it.” “Go ahead.”
After a little persuasion I was I was on my bike with my Dad holding the back of the banana seat.
I took off with my dad right beside me. “You’re doing great!” I heard my Dad yell from far behind me. I looked back and promptly fell.
I saw how far away he was and it hit me, “I did it by myself!” I squared my little shoulders, took a deep breath, and started back. Wobbly at first, steady by the time I got back in front of my house.
What I didn’t know was that my training wheels hadn’t been touching the ground for the last week or so, unless I was turning a corner.
The help I needed at first was actually slowing me down and keeping me from really using my bike. From then on I was fearless, maybe too fearless. Racing down steep hills and crashing at the bottom. Only to get up and do it again.
What does this have to do with Network Marketing?
Quite a bit.
Remember when you were a child every time you learned a new skill you would happily practice for hours?
You learned your letters and filled up notebooks writing them.
You learned to read and all but wore out your favorite book, reading it over and over again. Until you didn’t even need the book anymore, you knew it by heart.
What about the lessons you’re learning now, about Marketing On-line? Don’t you think it’s time to let your Inner Child out to play with your new skills?
To remember the joy of discovery, the thrill of showing your friends what you had learned, and helping them to learn it too?
What can your Inner Child teach you? And me?
Please leave a comment.

I remember my dad teaching me how to ride my bike without training wheels…geez, I’m teary eyed!
Anyway, that’s an awesome way to look at it! As a busy adult, learning new things can sometimes seem more like a chore than an adventure. Tapping into our “inner child” is an excellent way to look at it!
Great post!

I got a little choked up writing it. It’s time to remember our childhood dreams and start making them happen.

Loved the story Mike! I could picture it all happening.
I think your point about allowing ourselves to be playful and relax is so important. Children do it instinctively which is why they learn so quickly.
As we get older we are conditioned to be serious and responsible but in letting this dominate we close off the ‘space’ we need to grow which can be far more effortless than we experience as adults.

We looked at things differently when we were children, even chores were new and exciting.
I remember how thrilled I was the first time my Dad “let” mow the lawn. Although it wore off kind of quick.
