Content Spinners, Are They Right For You?

Lately I’ve been seeing all kinds of products designed to create content for you, quickly and easily.

According to the hype all you have to do is plug in a few keywords, click Go, and Bamm, you have ten to fifteen pieces of fresh, unique content ready to publish. Fast, easy, instant money makers. Yeah, right.

Article Spinners.

You take an article that you wrote, enter it into the program. Then you change as many synonyms as you can and the program will spit out as many different articles as you want, ten, fifteen, twenty, whatever.

That’s the theory, anyway.

Here’s how it really works.

If you have done it properly you have, say ten, new, unique articles ready to go. Google will index the articles. If you managed to change fifty percent of your synonyms they will read as different content, to Google.

Someone searches for your keywords, the search engines come up with seven of articles, so far so good.

The searcher reads the first piece, likes it and thinks the writer is dead on and knows his stuff. Partway through the third or fourth article they notice all of the articles are saying the same thing, only slightly differently.

Are they still going to think you know your topic, or are they going to wonder who you stole it from?

Content is King. If you’ve been on-line for even a small amount of time you’ve heard it over and over. Fresh, unique content, not rehashed, rewritten, and over used content.

That is if you do it right. If you do it wrong you end up with a bunch of content that doesn’t make any sense.

Take a simple sentence like, “Give yourself a make over”and it could turn into “Donate yourself a mold beyond.” Doesn’t make any sense, does it? These are real synonyms from a thesaurus, check for yourself.

For an article to be properly spun it must be written with spinning in mind. When you see the demo it goes, 1,2,3,4, done.

I tried to spin an article. It took over two hours to pick the right synonyms and it still sounded lame. I can write an article in two or three hours. So can you.

I suppose that with practice you can get good at Article Spinning. Wouldn’t it be better to spend that time perfecting your writing skills?

Instant Article Writers.

These sound really cool, too. Like an Article Spinner you just enter your keywords, tell it how many articles you want, click Go, and like magic you have articles written without any thought or effort. The keyword being “without thought.”

How is your article built? The program searches the Internet for your keywords, Then takes sentences from other people’s content and arranges them into a somewhat coherent article.

That’s right, you are stealing, plagiarizing other people’s work. Bad Reputation for a writer to have.

Unlike Article Spinners, I have found a use for Instant Article Writers. Research, the programs tell you the source of you stolen material.

There is nothing wrong, illegal, or unethical about reading some material, internalising it, and then writing your own unique article on the same topic.

Attraction Marketing

The goal of Attraction Marketing is to create a web of content to let customers and prospects find you and what you have to offer.

Will they be very attracted if your content says the same thing, in the same order, with just some of the words changed? I doubt it.

To be an Attractive Marketer you need to build your web yourself, either by writing your own content or hiring a free lance writer to create it for you.

In my opinion it is better to write it yourself. That way your own unique personality shows in all of your content.

Michael, I saw your comments on Jason's blog so thought I'd come over and visit. Great post here! I love content marketing because I actually love creating content but you are right one must be careful with some article spinners as they can turn one's precious nuggets of content into nonsense.

I have learned to use one of these effectively but I think the best advice I can give is to keep articles simple and no more than 500 words when spinning otherwise it can take up a lot of time.
